If Mom or Dad uses a supported iPhone, review Stolen Device Protection. Apple designed it to require stronger biometric checks for certain sensitive actions when the phone is away from familiar locations.

Do this now

Open the iPhone’s current security settings and find Stolen Device Protection.

Review Apple’s current explanation with Mom or Dad before enabling it.

Turn it on if the behavior fits how they use the phone.

Make sure Face ID or Touch ID works reliably for them.

Don’t do this

Do not enable security settings without explaining how they change normal use.
Do not treat this as a substitute for Find My, a strong device passcode, updates, or account recovery.
